About Us
The Central Texas Fly Fishers of San Marcos, Texas is affiliated with the International Federation of Fly Fishers, as well as its Texas Council. The club has members of all ages and abilities, from many backgrounds. We seek to share the techniques, traditions, and rewards of our shared passion through:
- monthly meetings and fly tying nights
- outings
- community casting clinics
- teaching fly tying and casting at schools and various fly fishing and outdoor events in our region
- conservation efforts
- expanding the outreach of Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing programs in central Texas
Fun Fish Day
Every January, the San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department sponsors a "Fun Fish Day" for physically and developmentally challenged students of the San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District, at TPWD's A. E. Wood Fish Hatchery in San Marcos. Since 1999 CTFF members have volunteered to lend a hand and help the kids catch smiles and a few fish. « see additional photos »
